Here is a problem.
I have been trying to download some of the pictures in the SD card of digial movie camera, Panasonic NV-GS 15. I installed the USB Driver, connected the camera and did everything they said in the manual. But I get the error message:

Unable to communicate with DV equipment. Please check that the cable is connected and that the DV equipment is turned on. Then restart connecting.

If I click OK in the message box, then it tries to connect again and then this screen comes, as if there is no camera at all.

Why is my camera undictated? I tried visiting some tech forums, but did not get any good answer. Hope there is some body there with an answer………

Godavari, the Telugu Movie

godavari

Went for a Telugu movie after a long time…….Godavari.

We should have seleted a better theatre with a better screen. That too when we had spend Rs.100 [That's still a hefty amount for movie tickets in Hyderbad] and already got some very poor service from the great PVR Theatre! But the movie experience made me forget that I had to write some real bad comments in their feedback form.

The movie: Yes, light, breezy, romantic. And there is the picturesque backdrop of Godavari whipping up an idyllic nostalgia for the “uncorrupted” countryside, peppered with images of Hyderabad cityscape, thankfully, not in a judgemental opposition.

Many of the story threads with which the movie started were forgotten by the middle of the movie…like the hero forgets that his mission is to become a politician, the poor boy who gets into the yatch to avenge forgets his aim as well. Factional political violence is introduced in the plot but had to be somehow wound up etc etc. The brightest point of the movie is the lively motley, including talking animals with a real good sense of humour, aboard who enliven the plot. But most of them are forgotten once love starts blooming and that’s where the movie begins to drag…. and drag. But I would want to go back home with images of the talking dogs, witty dialogues, some attempts - though poor - to address caste in everyday life, a non-traditional heroine etc. etc. Thanks, Director Shekar Kammula

Holy Jesus! Da Vinci Code is Banned

Today’s morning paper brought this disappointing news that Da Vinci Code is banned in Hyderabad and whole of Andhra Pradesh. And Aruna, Beena and me were all waiting to watch it. This is indeed disappointing!

It seems this is done keeping in mind the law and order issues in the state.
But the book which was available in all book shops and on streets of Sunday Markets did not create a law and order problem in the state?
Then they say, film has a larger reach, especially in the rural areas where books are not read.
So, it’s the illiterate rural folk who creates all the law and order problems in the state?
But surely, they are the ones who is going to miss out! Pirated CDs and downloaded versions, I’m sure would start distributed in the city, if they already have not been.
